NOTES: Medium-bodied, deep carmine red with an enticing nose of rose, cranberry and black baked cherry, with hints of leather and sweet spice. The palate is smooth yet with bright acidity and grippy tannins, flavors follow the nose with additional, notes of caramel, espresso, chocolate and minerals on the lengthy, mouth-watering finish. A lovely marriage of France and Paso styles with the savory notes of the former complementing the robust fruit of the latter. OPTIMAL NOW - 2028
WINEMAKING: Sustainably farmed in the Rolling Hills of Paso Robles, our Mayhem Syrah was hand picked in late September of 2018. The fruit was de-stemmed, optically sorted and fermented in small tanks, with regular pumpovers to aid in color extraction in order to let the varietal characteristics of the fruit to shine through, The wine was aged in 50% new French oak with a medium toast and 50% neutral barrels for 18 months before bottling in August 2019.
